The artist in question

Colin Luton is an illustrator/designer from the damp streets of Seattle. As a child he was utterly enthralled by all types of media, much to the dismay of his parents who’d rather he play outside. He studied Industrial Design at Western Washington University before switching gears to illustration and moving to the exotic land of Portland, Oregon, where he received a BFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art. His work is built from a combination of digital and traditional means, especially utilizing ink and handmade textures. Colin’s style is bold and graphic but with a sense of humor and a youthful appeal. He gets much of his inspiration from narrative works aimed at a younger demographic but with a mature sensibility. He enjoys creating characters and worlds, making comics, drawing superheroes and sci-fi things, and even does some graphic design. Colin currently lives in Portland and is available for commission and/or contract work.
